RECORDING SESSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST.
Finalize Arrangement: Lock in your song structures (intro, verse, chorus, bridge, dynamics) to avoid mistakes while tracking.
Memorize Your Material: Knowing your lyrics and parts "in your bones" allows you to focus on emotional delivery rather than reading from a sheet.
Dress Code: When preparing for a video shoot, especially one as physically active as a drum cover, your wardrobe must balance technical camera requirements with performance comfort. We recommend long pants. Bright white can "blow out" under studio lights, losing all detail. Solid Black will "suck up" light and blend into dark backgrounds, making you look like a "floating head". We recommend choosing solid, muted colours like navy blue, charcoal grey, burgundy, or earth tones typically look best and help cameras maintain proper exposure.
Remember to SMILE and enjoy your recording session experience!
What are the Benefits of the Drum Cover Video Program?
Recording yourself is the most effective ways for a drummer to improve their skills, as it forces an objective, critical, and detailed analysis of their playing that cannot be achieved during live performance. It shifts the focus from raw energy to precision, consistency, and sound quality.
Identifies Bad Habits: It exposes technical flaws, posture issues, or habits you are unaware of, allowing you to fix them.
Tracks Progress: By reviewing past recordings, you can objectively measure your growth over weeks or months, which is highly motivating.
Build Performance Confidence: Recording creates "mini" high-pressure, live performance scenario, helping you manage adrenaline, reducing stage fright.
Develops Critical Listening Skills: Regularly listening to your own recordings helps you develop a better ear, which makes you a better musician overall.
Parents or legal guardians must sign a model release form for any student under 18 (or 19 in some regions) to permit the use of their likeness in photos or videos for promotional purposes. Release Form will be provided upon booking Recording Session.
