Being raised in a musical family, drumming became a passion for Tim at a young age. Timothy received his Music Degree while attending Vancouver Island University. He also studied drums privately and attended classes at the Royal Conservatory of Music on Vancouver Island. Under the guidance of Drumming greats such as “Jim Chapin” and “Dennis Chambers”.

Tim has been an integral part of the Canadian music scene since 2004. Spanning the styles of Rock, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Funk, Soul and Gospel, Tim has worked with Soul Award Winning Artists including “Dawn Pemberton”, Canadian Maple Blues Award Winning Artist “Harpdog Brown”, Guitar Youtube Sensation and Berkley Guitar Master “Jay Leonard”, Juno and Grammy Award Winning Singer, Producer and Bassist “Chin Injeti” and Hiphop Juno Award Winning Artist “Devon Martin” aka “Mr Metro”. 

Tim is working on inspiring young drummers and helping to build stronger community of musicians. In 2022 Timothy Watson founded “Richmond Drum Lessons”. With the goal of giving his students a solid foundation. He has taught full-time drum programs that cover beginners and advanced. Focusing on technique, reading, writing, understanding song structures, dynamics and precision tempo. Tim’s students learn musicality and discover the rich rewards to be had by dedicating a reasonable amount of time to thoughtful practicing, and that a respect and love of music will be instilled.

Beyond individual instruction, Tim is committed to creating a stronger, more connected music community within the neighborhood. By encouraging collaboration, performance opportunities, and a shared appreciation for rhythm and music, Tim strives to make drumming a positive and inclusive force that brings people together.

Timothy currently collaborates with a wide variety of artists playing Jazz, Soul and a fusion of styles on the largest stages. One of Tim’s newest musical projects is “Honeybear the Band” which have received millions of plays on Spotify as well as rewarded many BC Factor Grants. Watson Continues to be one of the most in demand drummers in Canada.
